CARE INSTRUCTIONS
BIOPSY SITE WOUND CARE
Simple biopsy site wounds heal best when kept moist and covered with vaseline and a latex-free bandaid changed twice daily. In cases of suspected infection, over the counter bacitracin, polysporin or prescription Mupirocin ointment may be used instead of vaseline.
SENSITIVE SKIN WOUND CARE
Sensitive or thin skin may benefit from the use of hydrocolloid bandaids such as Hydroseal (Band-aid) or Primapore adhesive bandages.
You can also fashion a bandage of any size using nonstick gauze of any brand and sensitive tape. Cut the nonstick guaze to a size just slightly larger than your wound. Apply vaseline or your prescribed antibiotic ointment to the wound or gauze and affix the dressing to your skin with paper tape or Nexcare sensitive skin tape (blue packaging). Change twice daily and avoid getting dressing wet.
